Bobby Selvaggio Trio
Ensemble
Led by acclaimed alto saxophonist Bobby Selvaggio, this powerhouse trio brings together three of Northeast Ohio's most accomplished jazz artists. Selvaggio, praised by Joe Lovano as "one of the few young saxophonists on the scene today that captures you with his strong presence, focus, and sound," has earned critical acclaim with his recent release stories, dreams, inspirations: for my boy receiving 4 stars from DownBeat. As Director of Jazz Studies at Kent State University and a veteran of New York's premier venues including the Village Vanguard and Birdland, he continues to be a leading voice in contemporary jazz.
Joining Selvaggio is bassist George DeLancey, a Michigan State University graduate and eight-year New York jazz scene veteran who has released three critically acclaimed albums and performed with leading jazz figures at venues across the United States. His extensive experience and mastery of the instrument provide the perfect foundation for the trio's dynamic sound.
Completing the ensemble is Cleveland drummer Anthony Taddeo, whose versatile and passionate approach to music has made him one of the region's most sought-after musicians. With an MFA in Composition and over 30 albums to his credit, Taddeo has performed at prestigious venues worldwide including Birdland, Blue Note, and the Bern Jazz Festival. His ability to adapt his distinctive style while serving the music makes him an integral part of Cleveland's vibrant jazz scene.
