Smokeface

Electric Bass

SmokeFace represents a unique artistic vision in contemporary music production—a professional bassist and producer from Akron, Ohio, who has created an innovative approach to music-making that separates the creator from the creation to achieve "timeless and limitless creativity and experimentation." With over 15 years of professional experience, SmokeFace has established himself as both a high-level performer and a versatile producer capable of working across multiple genres and production contexts.

Born and raised in Akron, SmokeFace's musical journey has been deeply personal and transformative. As he puts it, "Music has saved my life and given me something to live for," and this profound connection to music drives his mission to "spread that to the rest of the world." This philosophy underlies all of his work, whether performing on stage with major artists or crafting productions in the studio.

SmokeFace's performance credentials include impressive collaborations with some of the biggest names in contemporary hip-hop and popular music. His band recently performed with Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), one of Cleveland's most successful musical exports, demonstrating his ability to work at the highest levels of the music industry. He also performed at EST Fest IV alongside Gucci Mane, one of hip-hop's most influential figures, showcasing his versatility and professional capabilities on major festival stages.

His festival experience extends to Numbers Fest 2017, where he performed with Migos, the Grammy-nominated hip-hop trio known for their innovative approach to rap and their massive commercial success. These high-profile performances represent more than just career achievements—they demonstrate SmokeFace's ability to adapt his musical skills to serve different artistic visions while maintaining his own creative identity.

The concept behind the SmokeFace persona reflects a sophisticated understanding of artistic creation and presentation. By adopting a masked identity, SmokeFace has created a way to separate the music from the personal identity of the creator, allowing for greater creative freedom and experimentation. This approach enables him to explore different musical territories without being constrained by preconceptions about his background or previous work.
